Absolutely gorgeous, rare, and completely unique vintage pendant.
Made in the 1960/1970’s by Finnish designer Kaija Aarikka
She and her husband were famous for their unique furniture designs, Kaija branched out into jewellery design.
The wooded ball design you see in this necklace, was her signature style.
She was awarded the Order of the Lion of Finland, for her design work.
Green blue wooden balls (which all spin fluidly) encased in a silver circular design.
Below them are more are different sized wooden balls hanging loosely from the main body of the pendant. (Hopefully that makes sense!)
The silver is ‘silver’ (but I cannot find the mark on it)
Length (including top hoop fastening) approx 4.5”
Width approx 2”
This is a rare piece and incredibly striking to look at and wear...it is not too heavy as is made from wood, so can be worn effortlessly.
